Library Classroom Behavior Expectations

Our library is foremost a classroom and learning environment.  There are high expectations for student behavior to correlate with individual learning and to correspond with the positive learning of all class members. In our library we:

1) Take care of library materials

We always use a bookmark to save a place in a library book, our hands are clean before library books are touched and read; Food and drinks are kept away from library books; Library books are kept safe from damage by weather, smaller children or pets; Library books are returned on time so other can read them;Library equipment is treated with care; Shelf markers are used to look for books

2) Enhance our own learning

We are respectful and attentive during lessons and follow procedures and directions given by the teacher. We keep ourselves safe by being responsible and in control.

3) Foster the learning of others

We are respectful and attentive during lessons and follow procedures and directions given by the teacher. We keep others safe by being responsible and in control.

Library Computer Usage

We use the document camera and SmartBoard for library lessons.  Students regularly use patron computers to locate library materials and to do research. Students are expected to follow the same acceptable computer usage guidelines of the school and their homeroom classes when in the library.
